Students' Achievements
Students at our School take part actively in various academic competitions for intellectual challenges and stimulation, and to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in a multitude of disciplines and subject matters. Our students have attained a host of awards and recognitions in recent years.

  • HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards 2006-07

    LEE Wing Hung Rex, (BEcon&Fin Year 3), and YUNG See-Hang Gary, (BBA Year 2) struck gold to clinch the Gold Award at the HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards held in March 2007. The winning idea of "Blue Revolution" utilizes a revolutionary marketing platform which motivates consumers to download and share video advertisements on mobile phones by using Bluetooth technology

  • YDC E-Challenge 2007

    A team of first-year students successfully grabbed the title of Champion Team in the YDC E-Challenge 2007, beating over 160 teams who participated in the competition.

    The E-Challenge, annually organized by the Young Entrepreneurs Development Council of Hong Kong, is designed to provide students with exposure to the business community. The competition helps develop the skills required to facilitate an entrepreneurial spirit and mindset.

    It is a part of YDC's continous efforts to generate the best ways and ideas to put talents and skills into Hong Kong's innovative and knowledge-based society.

  • HSBC Young IT Entrepreneur Awards 2006

    A creative idea by two students (NIP Man Lok Oliver and LAU Wan Sze Winsie) of our School won them the Gold Award at the Hong Kong Final of the 6th HSBC Young IT Entrepreneur Awards, held in March 2006. They also won the Best Presentation Award in the Regional Grand Final. Their idea was to set up a digital photo management system that enables people to share photographs automatically with their friends and family-members. The system helps users save time, and features simple procedures to distribute the images.

    Our students have an impressive track record with the HSBC Young IT Entrepreneur Awards, having won the Gold Award in 2004 and the Silver Award in 2003.

  • MPFA & IFPHK Student Case Study Competition 2005

    A group of students from our School (ZHANG Jiawen and YU Qinyi) won the First Prize in the 2005 MPFA & IFPHK Student Case Study Competition, organised by the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority and the Institute of Financial Planners Hong Kong with the aim of promoting the MPF Scheme and the concept of financial planning.

    The competition involved analyzing a case study about a middle-income Hong Kong family and proposing an investment strategy using MPF contributions as a major tool for generating retirement income. The winners donated the $20,000 prize money to HKU's "China Education Programme" in Hunan Province, China.
