Bloomberg Assessment Test (BAT)
Bloomberg L.P. will be launching a standardized test known as the Bloomberg Assessment Test (BAT) soon. BAT is designed primarily for undergraduate students to assess their basic financial knowledge and a variety of skills and abilities relevant to financial professionals. Students can release their BAT score to potential employers to demonstrate their ability and knowledge in finance. BAT will also help employers screen their entry level applicants more objectively.
Bloomberg L.P. is now inviting HKU undergraduate students to take the trial version of BAT free of charge. You can benefit from taking this exam in two respects. First, if you plan to take the actual exam later, this trial exam is an opportunity for you to familiarize with the exam questions and style. Second, you can choose to release your trial exam score to potential employers if you do well in the exam. According to Bloomberg L.P., a number of financial institutions including Barclays, Credit Suisse, HSBC and Morgan Stanley will be using BAT as part of their undergraduate hiring plans this year. However, note that it is up to individual employers to consider the relevance of the trial BAT scores as compared to the actual BAT scores.
