All regular full-time HKU undergraduate students of all years

Students can choose to apply for one of the following institutes:
- Engalitcheff Institute on Comparative Political and Economic
Systems (ICPES)
- Institute on Political Journalism (IPJ)
- Institute on Business and Government Affairs (IBGA)
- Institute on Philanthropy and Voluntary Service (IPVS)

Fees and Scholarship
- The Registration fee of US$45 is waived for HKU applicants.
- The tuition fee is US$6795, including housing, internship placement, two 6-credit courses, site briefings and special events.
- A deposit of US$750 has to be settled by student upon acceptance of offer.
- Full or partial scholarship may be offered, depending on the availability of funds.
- Airfare and visa application fee have to be borne by student.

HKU students: Please submit a completed application form (download

and the documents as explained below to Miss Annie Lam, School of
Economics and Finance, Room 908, K.K. Leung Building on or before
November 30, 2009. Do NOT submit online
application at http://www.dcinternships.org/.
- Engalitcheff Institute on Comparative Political and
Economic Systems (ICPES)
- One or more letter of recommendation. If you submit one
letter, it must be from a professor or Dean (you can ask a
teacher of HKU who knows about your academic performance to
write the recommendation letter for you). Letters should be
typed on letterhead and have the name, address, telephone
number, email (if available) and signature of the referees.
All recommendations are subject to verification.
- An official transcript in English (please apply for one
at the Academic Services Enquiry Office, Registry (KB UG-05)
if you have not got an up-to-date HKU transcript)
- Proof of economics prerequisite (macroeconomics is recommended)
-- can be listed in official transcript.
- A typed, one-page professional resume that includes information
about any activities you have been involved in that would
illustrate your interest in politics, public policy or international
affairs.
- 250-500 word essay on the following topic: Identify the
most important economic, political or social issue facing
your country. Please explain its significance and offer at
least one solution.
- 250-500 word Statement of Purpose stating your reasons
for applying to the Institute, and what you would like to
gain by attending.
- TOEFL exam score (original or certified true copy of score
report required); not necessary for AIPE graduate.
- A statement of how much financial support would be needed.
- Institute on Political Journalism (IPJ)
- One or more letter of recommendation. If you submit one
