Live, Learn & Intern summer institute at Georgetown University in Washington DC, 2010

Dear Student,

Our School has been sending HKU student representatives to Washington each summer to participate in the TFAS-sponsored Live, Learn and Intern summer institutes at Georgetown University. The institutes are characterized by:

  • 4 unique programmes to choose –
    • Engalitcheff Institute on Comparative Political and Economic Systems
    • Institute on Political Journalism
    • Institute on Business and Government Affairs
    • Institute on Philanthropy and Voluntary Service
  • 8 weeks to enrol in 2 courses and gain 6 credits from Georgetown University
  • unparalleled overseas internship experience in one of Washington’s best internship programmes
  • living in apartments on Georgetown University’s campus, which offers a traditional collegiate setting in one of Washington’s most distinctive residential neighborhoods

Students who joined the summer institutes in the past found it one of the most rewarding experiences in their lives. Please go to www.sef.hku.hk/dc2010/testimonials.php to hear what they say about the institutes.

For summer 2010, we will again send a few of our best and brightest students to Washington to attend the summer institutes, which will run from June 6 to July 30, 2010. Scholarships (full or partial) may be available to the worthy HKU students to join the programme and gain invaluable experience. All HKU regular full-time undergraduate students are welcome to apply. Those interested should submit applications by Monday, November 30, 2009. For further information of the summer institutes, please visit the website: http://www.dcinternships.org/.
